MY CHILDHOOD HOLIDAY MEMORIES

Hey dolls!!!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love the excitement, the decorations and the season in general. I must say I'm a pro at decorating the christmas tree. 🙈🙈😎

I grew up in Africa so christmas for us was a little different. Every year my cousins and I would dress up and go visit all our aunts and uncles by ourselves and get presents and most times money. It was really fun.  I remember one year my cousin and I pulled an all nighter on christmas eve. We were 9/10 years old at that time, my aunt warned us that we would be sleepy on Christmas day but as usual we didn't listen. We stayed up all night and ended falling asleep at 8am christmas day when all of our friends were getting ready for christmas. It really sucked!

When I moved to America how I celebrated christmas changed. My family started a new tradition. My sister, brother and I always open our christmas present on christmas eve. We help our mom bake christmas cookies and coconut bread. We usually get to eat as much cookies as we want on christmas eve. My mom is the best!! I remember one year she couldn't afford to get us christmas presents. She sat us down told that we wouldn't  receive presents that year. At first we thought she was joking until we checked underneath the christmas tree on Christmas eve.  We didn't get any presents. We were very mature about the situation, we understood that things were hard on her.  We didn't get presents that year, but we spent christmas together as a family and we had fun with each other. That was the best christmas I have ever had. I learned the value of family and how important it is to be with your family. Presents doesn't really matter to my siblings and I anymore. We give more than we receive nowadays and it's an amazing feeling.

That's all for now, until next time stay fabu-lous!

Peace, love and happy shopping
